Tom Corbo joined the MBS Mathematics Department six years ago and has served as the Mathematics Department Chair during that time. He brought over thirty years of experience in both public and private education to MBS.

This expansive experience includes teaching mathematics to grades 7-12 for 19 years in addition to serving in a number of other roles, including athletic director, supervisor of curriculum and instruction, assistant principal, and principal on the high school level. Notably, Tom has been an avid supporter of athletics and coached several years as a football and basketball assistant, as well as a head varsity baseball coach for five years.

He earned his undergraduate degree at Cortland SUNY in Mathematics Education, a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education at the University of New Hampshire, and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at New Jersey City University.

Tom was instrumental in the implementation of the new Integrated Mathematics Program at MBS, and he teaches the Introductory and first levels of the integrated program in the MBS Middle School. He is an advocate of the School’s student centered and holistic approach to education, and as an educator, he enjoys the academic freedom to shape curriculum at MBS.
