Kathryn Vignola

B.A., Columbia University
Kate holds a B.A. in French from Columbia University and an M.A. in French literature from Arizona State University. She is certified to teach French for grades 7-12 in New York State. Kate has studied at the Institut Catholique in Paris and the Université Laval in Québec, Canada. She joins MBS after working at Tuxedo Park School, where she served as the chair of World Languages and taught French to students in Primary, Middle, and Upper School since 2012. Prior to her time at Tuxedo Park, Kate taught at Chester Academy High School, Fox Lane High School, and the French-American School of New York.
Kate is passionate about sharing her love for the French language and culture with her students at MBS. Inspired by Charlemagne's quote, "To have a second language is to possess a second soul," she is committed to helping her students discover new identities and cultural perspectives.
As an enthusiastic educator and traveler, Kate is dedicated to extending her students' learning beyond the classroom. She has led school trips to Quebec, China, and South Africa, and she is excited about participating in this year's upcoming school trip to Martinique.
Additionally, Kate recently completed 200 hours of training to become a certified yoga instructor and is currently studying children's mindfulness. She lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband and their four sons.
