Abigail Henkel joined us as a French teacher in the World Language Department in 2021. Abby holds a B.A. in French & Francophone Studies/Anthropology from Hamilton College. Her honors thesis for her French concentration was entitled “The Fantasized Parisienne: Images of Women in French New Wave Films.” For her Anthropology concentration, she wrote an honors thesis entitled “Makeup and Other Masks: Beauty and the Self During COVID-19.” As part of her studies, Abby spent a year in Paris with coursework at Sciences Po, Hamilton College’s Reid Hall, Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, and Université Paris Diderot. As a graduating senior at Hamilton, Abby was the recipient of The Franklin G. Hamlin Prize in French.
