For Mr. Ryan Tamburrino, encouraging students to work outside of their comfort zones is the most rewarding part of teaching. He believes that students do their best work when grappling with intellectually hefty ideas in an initially playful and eventually rigorous manner. In particular, he has enjoyed introducing students to higher mathematics via advanced seminars in network analysis and group theory.

Ryan earned his B.A. summa cum laude, PBK, in mathematics with a minor in physics from Hamilton College in 2019. He has a passion for puzzles, patterns, and Putnam exam problems that comprise most of his hobbies. From crosswords to sudokus, and from Rubik’s cubes to tabletop games, Ryan loves analyzing the intricacies of different systems and recognizing and applying their inherent patterns.

In addition to teaching, Ryan coaches the JV boys’ soccer team.
