Before joining the MBS family, Klarissa spent time teaching in public school and worked as a Tax Accountant in the High Tech Industry for over a decade. She possesses a strong interest in economics and enjoys implementing statistical analysis in her humanities coursework. A first-generation college student, Klarissa earned her undergraduate degree in Social Science from San Jose State University before earning a Teaching Credential and Masters Degree in Multi-Cultural Education from Santa Clara University.

Klarissa spends time with her family, loves to travel, and watches documentary films in her free time. Her favorite quote? One from the great Maya Angelou: "My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style."
