Dr. Miklós Jálics finds his passion in motivating students to be the best that they can be. He is always looking for more challenging math problems that help students make connections that will ultimately lead to a mastery understanding of the discipline.

Miklós joined the MBS Upper School Math Faculty in 2015 and was Chair of the Mathematics Department from 2018 until 2022.  He is also an assistant JV soccer coach.  He came to MBS in 2015 after having taught Mathematics for 15 years and chairing the department at the American International School of Budapest.

Miklós earned his undergraduate education in Applied Mathematics with a computer science minor at the University of Akron, where he was a member of the 1986 NCAA National Runner-Ups in soccer. After receiving his degree, he spent a year in Hungary finding his roots. From there, Miklós went on to receive a PhD in Mathematics at The Ohio State University. His research focused on using scientific computing to analyze an industrial process of growing crystals used in making semiconductors.
