Lisa majored in English and French at The Ohio State University. She spent her junior year studying at the Sorbonne, Unversité de Paris IV. Lisa began graduate work at the University of Rochester, where she completed her Masters, and received her PhD in English Literature at the University of Chicago.

Lisa was an Assistant Professor of English at Seton Hall University, where she served as the Director of Freshman English and the Director of Project Acceleration.  She also taught writing and literature classes at the University of Rochester, the University of Chicago, and North Park College.

Lisa began her tenure at MBS in the Center for Academic Writing in March 2021, and currently teaches writing and literature classes in the English Department. A parent of both a current and former MBS student (classes of ‘19 & ‘23), Lisa values many aspects of MBS: its emphasis on intellectual independence, risk-taking and curiosity; its supportive and inclusive community; and its commitment to empowering all students to reach their full potential.

Outside of school, Lisa serves on the boards of two local non-profit institutions. She also enjoys watching sports, cooking, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. She is privileged to be part of a book club that has been reading together for the last eighteen years.
