Giving
Welcome from the Director of Development
Dear Parents, Alumni and Friends of Morristown-Beard School,
As the new Director of Development for MBS, I am honored to have the opportunity to thank you for your tremendous support and generosity to the School over the past year. At Morristown-Beard, providing our exceptional students and faculty everything they need to learn, to grow, and to succeed is our highest priority. Thanks to your commitment to annual giving we continue to thrive as an outstanding institution of learning.
On behalf of the Alumni & Development Team, I am proud to report on the success of the 2011-2012 Annual Fund. For the first time ever, giving exceeded one million dollars! A record 1,254 donors generously contributed $1,026,031 in support of our School, a 20% increase over last year, and a 39% increase over the past five years. It is especially gratifying to note that this support has been found among every constituent group, with the leadership of our Board participating at 100%, our faculty and staff participating at 96%, parents at 63% and alumni at 20%.
The success of our annual fund truly reflects the strength and vibrancy of our School and community. We received record applications for the 2012-13 academic year, enjoyed wait lists for every grade and had an attrition rate of less than 3%. Under the leadership and direction of Headmaster Peter J. Caldwell, MBS is poised for continued success in the coming year and beyond.
We extend a special thank you to the dedicated volunteers of the Crimson Club and Parents’ Association who planned and executed a series of highly successful events and activities that raised more than $236,000 to further enhance programs and facilities at the School.
This year, we are proud to introduce a new name and a new look for annual giving at MBS—The Morristown-Beard Fund. With a consistent name and logo, we hope The Morristown-Beard Fund and its importance will always be a clear and recognizable symbol to our community as the cornerstone of Morristown-Beard’s financial stability. Your support of this yearly appeal is essential to our mission, and has a profound impact on the educational experience of every MBS student as well as the quality of professional life for MBS faculty and staff. Thank you sincerely for your continued and generous giving!
Each and every gift makes a difference.
Each and every gift is needed.
Each and every gift is greatly appreciated.
With gratitude,
Betsy Patterson
